Shopping, Restaurants and Lodging

Most of the shopping and restaurants within the county are located in the Pinehurst, Southern Pines and Aberdeen areas. If you’re moving from a heavily populated area and are used to a quick drive to your local Nordstrom’s followed by a meal at P.F. Chang’s, you may be a little disappointed with our options—at least at first. But serious shoppers need to keep in mind you are only an hour and 15 minutes away from Raleigh and Greensboro.Actually, for its total population (85,000), Moore County has quite a few choices for good food and shopping. Restaurants include The Outback, Tripp’s, Ruby Tuesday’s, The Bonefish Grill, Chili’s, Moe’s Southwest Grill, Panera Bread as well as several higher-end privately owned restaurants like the Ironwood Café, Chef Warren’s and Elliott’s on Linden. Popular stores in the area include Belk, Best Buy, Lowe’s, Ross, Michael’s, PetSmart, Stein Mart and many privately owned shops, particularly along Broad Street in Southern Pines and throughout the Village of Pinehurst. There are plenty of options for lodging, including higher cost venues such as the Carolina Hotel or the Holly Inn in Pinehurst. Other traditional choices in the area include the Hampton Inn, Days Inn, Homewood Suites, Comfort Inn and Marriot Springhill Suite’s and Residence Inn.I’d be glad to provide you with a list of local hotels that offer discounts to our clients.
